Hey there! You’re reading this page, which means you’re seriously planning a China adventure, right? Welcome to Travel China Hub. Think of us as your personal “mine-sweepers” for this trip.
Feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting info online? Bloggers say this, guides say that… who to trust? We get it. When our founders were backpacking in China, we faced the exact same headaches: fumbling with cash at a street food stall, staring cluelessly at the 12306 train app, deciphering menus with zero English… It was these hilarious and frustrating real-life experiences that made us say in 2018: “Enough! Let’s build a site that actually makes sense of all this!”
So, what is Travel China Hub?
In short, we’re that ‘China-savvy local friend’ in your pocket. Not a formal government guide, not a content farm. We’re a group of real humans who live in, travel through, and have stumbled into every pitfall China has to offer. Our only job? To make your trip to China simple, clear, and incredibly fun.
Meet your “accomplices”:
Lao Zhang, the Beijing “Fixer”: A tour guide for a decade, specializing in foreign groups. His superpower? Knowing which watchtower on the Great Wall has the best views with the fewest crowds, and the perfect afternoon route through the Forbidden City. He’s your guy for anything Beijing.
Xiao Min, the Shanghai “Wiki”: She’s helped countless international students navigate life in China. From getting a local SIM card and finding the right hospital, to mastering Alipay for everything, she’s a walking survival guide.
Mike, the American “Explorer”: A digital nomad who worked and traveled across China for two years. He deeply understands that “lost-in-translation” feeling upon arrival. All the practical travel tips from a foreigner’s perspective—like which VPN works best or how to order food delivery—are born from his trial and error.
Fang Jie, the Guangzhou “Food Radar”: For her, travel is all about eating. She’ll guide you into alleys to find that Cantonese dim sum spot with no English menu but food that’ll blow your mind. Follow her, and your China trip becomes a “A Bite of China” documentary.
Why trust us? We have three non-negotiable rules:
- Information Must Be “Piping Hot”: You know how fast China changes. Attraction tickets, visa policies, app features… We’ve sworn an oath: all critical information must be manually checked and updated every 3 months. What you read is what works right now in 2026.
- Truth Only, No Fluff: If a viral spot is now overcrowded and a letdown, we’ll straight-up tell you, “Maybe skip it.” We don’t do “must-praise” ads. Every hotel, VPN, and itinerary we recommend is something we’ve paid for and loved ourselves.
- Plain English, No Nonsense: We hate vague phrases like “convenient transport.” We’ll tell you: “For the Shanghai Bund, take subway Line 2 to East Nanjing Road Station, exit 7. The lights don’t fully come on until after 5 PM—that’s the best time for photos.”
Our mission is simple:
We believe planning your China travel shouldn’t drain all the fun before you even leave. It should be: visa checklists that make sense, a budget that’s transparent, photos of the Great Wall that take your breath away, and street food that warms your soul. You should go home with a suitcase full of “Wow, China is incredible!” memories, not complaints.
